A Waterloo man faces weapons charges after investigating a fight and possible shots fired at a Waterloo gas station Sunday morning.

The Waterloo Police Department was called to the Casey's General Store at 3035 Logan Avenue at around 3 a.m. Sunday for a reported fight and possible shots fired.

As they arrived, officers say the fight was breaking up and people were leaving.  Officers were able to question one man, but no gun was found and he was released.

After officers reviewed video, they say the man they interviewed, 22-year-old Francis Davontay Phillips of Waterloo, did have a gun in his possession.

Officers executed a search warrant at 420 Reed St. Thursday and arrested Phillips.

Phillips is charged with intimidation with a dangerous weapon, carrying weapons, providing false identification and interference with official acts while armed with a dangerous weapon.

He is being held at the Black Hawk County Jail on a $50,000 bond.
