Iowa State didn't get much of a challenge to move to 2-0 on the early season as they rolled past Alabama A&M 98-40. The Cyclones used their size advantage to outscore the Bulldogs 54-14 in the paint.
Tyrus McGee led ISU with 18 points including 4-6 shooting from the 3 point line. Freshman Georges Niang added 17 on 87% shooting. Niang was a perfect 2 for 2 from beyond in the arc. In all, 5 different Iowa State players scored in double digits.
The 58 point win marked the 6th largest margin of victory in Iowa State history.
