CEDAR RAPIDS (KWWL) -
Top ranked Charles City rallied from a 2 games to none deficit to defeat Solon for the class 4A state volleyball championship. The title was the first in school history for the Comets.
Solon looked dominant in the first 2 sets winning by scores of 25-16 and 25-18. Charles City rallied to take the final 3 25-14, 25-23, and 15-13.
The top-ranked Comets
were led by all-tournament captain Jessie Sindlinger's 16 kills and 13 digs
while Torey Buenger added 14 kills. Charles City ends the season with a 45-1 record.
