It was anything but easy, however Tripoli got it done. The #2 Panthers defeated number one Grundy Center 3-1 in the 1A final to win their 5th straight state championship.
The Panthers jumped out to a quick 2 sets to none lead by game scores of 25-21, 25-22. Grundy Center bounced back behind strong play from Samantha Meyers picking up a dominant 25-17 win, but Tripoli regrouped in set 4, winning 25-18 to bring home the top trophy.
Bailey Kirchhoff led the Panthers with 15 kills and 14 digs while Courtney
Anderson recorded a team-high 21 kills. Meyers led the Spartans with a match high 24 kills.
Tripoli's championship was the teams 11th in 14 years.
