CEDAR FALLS (KWWL) -
The fourth annual Cranksgiving event was held in Cedar Falls on Saturday morning. Cyclists and runners gathered to help out the Northeast Iowa Food Bank during the busy holiday season. The event is also designed to encourage environment friendly behavior.
More than 100 cyclists and a few runners traveled to 10 locations in Cedar Falls to purchase food items such as canned goods, stuffing, and flour. The event is free and open to all members of the public. Cranksgiving is a national event held in every state. Similar events also took place on Saturday in Mason City and Des Moines in Iowa.
