Oxford company being investigated after fish kill

An Oxford company is being investigated by the Iowa Department of Natural Resources after a fish kill in Rhine Creek.

AgVantage, an agricultural chemical facility, reported a chemical release on Thursday.  They told the DNR that about 200 gallons of water containing residue of chemicals spilled from rinse tanks and pooled on the ground, with some reaching the creek.

The DNR says about 100 minnows in the creek were dead by early Thursday afternoon.

The DNR says AgVantage is working on cleaning up the spill.

The investigation into the incident continues.
