Grundy Center advances to 1A State Volleyball Semifinals

CEDAR RAPIDS (KWWL) -

Samantha Meyers had 22 kills and seven digs to power top-rated Grundy Center to a sweep of Grandview Park Baptist in Class 1A first round action at the 2012 Iowa State Volleyball Tournament.

 

Led by Meyers, the Spartans hit .387 as a team and had 11 service aces with 10 blocks. Heather Hook had five service for the Spartans.

 

Grandview Park Baptist was ked by Emily Wolfe's seven kills. The Defenders end the season at 29-7.

 

Grundy Center advanced to the Class 1A semifinals to face fourth-ranked Janesville at 7:00 p.m. Friday night.
