1A State Volleyball: Janesville advances to semifinals

Emily Ruth had 13 kills to lead fourth-ranked Janesville back to the Class 1A semifinals for the third-straight year as the Wildcats topped Stanton 25-19, 25-13, 25-17 in first round State Volleyball Tournament play Thursday night in Cedar Rapids.

 

Janesville (32-8) will face Grundy Center or Grandview Park Baptist in the Class 1A semifinals Friday night at 7:00 p.m. on Court One.

 

Janesville all-state Kendyl Sorge added nine kills and 13 digs while Brittney Hansen had five service aces.

 

Carmen Subbert led Stanton with 12 kills. The Viqueens end their season at 34-3.
