The mother of an Iowa Medal of Honor Recipient will speak at a veteran's event on Monday.

On Monday, Rose Guinta will be the featured speaker at the Salute to Veterans event.

Mrs. Giunta will speak about how the families of service members are affected by their loved ones serving in the military.

Her son, Salvatore Guinta, was awarded the Medal of Honor during November 2010.

Monday's event is at the Cedar Rapid's Marriott from 1-3 p.m.
