DES MOINES (KWWL) -
Two very close Iowa Senate races left unresolved on Tuesday have gone to the Democrats, while a third Iowa Senate race likely will see a recount.
Democrats are seeking a recount in Senate District 28, where Republican
Michael Breitbach currently leads incumbent State Sen. John Beard by just 37
votes out of more than 29,000 cast.
The District 26 race between State Senate incumbents Merlin Bartz, a Republican, and Mary Wilhelm, a Democrat, was settled Wednesday when Bartz conceded the race. Wilhelm is currently 120 votes ahead of Bartz before the official canvass.
As KWWL has reported previously, incumbent Sen. Jeff Danielson, a Democrat, has won re-election in Senate District 10 after Republican challenger Matt Reisetter conceded. He unofficially lost to Danielson by just 616 votes.
