The race in Iowa Senate District 30 is over.
Incumbent Sen. Jeff Danielson of Cedar Falls, has won re-election with a victory over Republican challenger Matt Reisetter.
The unofficial margin of victory for Jeff Danielson currently stands at 616 votes - 16,828 to 16, 212.
Reisetter's Campaign Manager Justin Bartlett says Matt Reisetter has now conceded the race to Sen. Danielson.
For most of election night, Reisetter built a commanding lead. At one point, with 92 percent of the precincts reporting, Reisetter appeared to be very close to victory.
Late in the evening, Black Hawk County experienced a memory card failure, which required hand-counting of more than 5,000 absentee ballots. When the hand-counting ended, shortly after midnight, Danielson had taken the 616 vote lead.
Sen. Danielson is used to close races. In his last re-election bid four years ago, he won by only 22 votes over Republican challenger Walt Rogers.
Rogers won re-election Tuesday night in Iowa House District 60, with a victory over Bob Greenwood.
