Mike Gesell scored 18 in his freshman debut as Iowa dropped Quincy in the lone exhibition contest 100-54.
The Hawkeyes opened the game scoring the first 22 points and never looked back. Gesell went 5-8 from the field in his first game as a Hawkeye knocking down 3 3-pointers in the contest.
Eric May added 15 points in the win. That included a pair of steals resulting in a couple of rim rattling dunks. Josh Oglesby also tallied 15 for the Hawks.
Iowa opens regular season play on Friday against Texas-Pan American.
