Big runs push ISU past Minnesota State 90-57


Melvin Ejim picked up a double-double as Iowa State took down Minnesota State 90-57 in exhibition play.

Ejim scored 11 points and grabbed 12 rebounds in the victory.

The Cyclones used a couple of big runs to put Minnesota State away.  ISU would lead 39-13 at one point during the first half.  However, the Mavericks used a 27-5 run to threaten and pull within 4 points at 44-40.  That's when Iowa State countered with a 23-0 run to put the game away.

Tyrus McGee led Iowa State with 16 points, while Michigan State transfer Korey Lucious added 15 for the Cyclones in the win. 

ISU opens regular season play against Southern on Friday.
