AMES (KWWL) -
Landry Jones threw four touchdown passes as 12th ranked Oklahoma powered past Iowa State 35-20.
The Cyclones kept the game close in the first half with a pair of Edwin Arceo field goals. Arceo hit from 51 yards with just over a minute left in the first half as Iowa State trailed 7-6. The Cyclones, however, lost all the momentum as the Sooners marched down the field in just seconds. Jones would hi Kenny Stills on a 21 yard strike with just 14 seconds left as Oklahoma would go in to the locker room with a 14-6 lead. The Sooners would outscore Iowa State 21-14 in the second half.
One week after his career game against Baylor, Iowa State's Steele Jantz looked strong. Jantz completed 20 of 40 passes for 191 yards, however, drops by receivers in key situations would keep the ISU offense stumbling through much of the afternoon. Iowa State's 2 second half touchdowns would come from Jarvis West on a 19 reverse run, while Shontrelle Johnson powered in from the 2 in the 4th quarter.
Iowa State travels to #23 Texas for an 11 AM kickoff next Saturday.
