HUBBARD (KWWL) -

A teenager is recovering after being shot by a law enforcement officer Friday afternoon in rural Hardin County.

It happened just before 3 p.m. in the 2200 block of I Avenue in rural Hubbard.

An initial 9-1-1 call reported someone shot at a vehicle as it drove past a house. Hardin County Sheriff's Deputies responded. As the sheriff was working to make an arrest, 17-year-old Richard Awe-Kramer of Marshalltown raised a weapon and refused to drop it.
