VP Candidate Paul Ryan makes campaign stop in Cedar Falls

Republican Vice Presidential candidate Paul Ryan rallied for votes in front of nearly 1,000 people at UNI on Friday afternoon.

"It's exciting to see politicians when they come to your local town," said Matthew Loewen.

Senator Chuck Grassley introduced Ryan as the "next Vice President of the United States" before Ryan took the stage at 3:45 p.m. and gave his 15-minute speech.

"We cannot afford as a nation to wait four more years for real change," said Ryan, encouraging the crowd to vote on Tuesday. "Let's make sure we only wait four more days for real change."

"I'm very excited about Tuesday," said Alex Loewen who attended Friday's rally.

The rally focused on balancing the budget and creating jobs. Ryan said his running mate Governor Mitt Romney has the leadership it takes to balance the budget, create more jobs and "get the country back on track."

"I liked what he said," said Wilma Veenstra of Pella. "We need change in the country. Something has to be done."

Ryan's final stop in Iowa is scheduled for Monday.
