DUNKERTON (KWWL) -

A 70-year-old Oelwein man died in an accident at East Cedar Wapsi Road and North Canfield Road just after 2:00 p.m. Wednesday afternoon.

The Black Hawk County Sheriff's Office says a vehicle driven by 26-year-old Lee Benter of Oelwein was headed north on North Canfield Road when it was hit by a vehicle that was headed east on East Cedar Wapsi Road driven by 70-year-old Gerald Munn of Oelwein.

Captain Rick Abben says Munn disobeyed the stop sign at the intersection.

Benter and two passengers in that vehicle were not injured.  Munn was taken to Allen Memorial Hospital where he later died.
