New Cedar Rapids Police Chief takes oath of office

Cedar Rapids has a new Chief of Police.

Mayor Ron Corbett delivered the oath of office to Wayne Jerman this morning.

Jerman is the department's 43rd chief.

He was last the assistant chief in Montgomery County, Maryland.

"To the dedicated men and women of the Cedar Rapids Police Department, I pledge to each of you that I will lead by example, be in the front, and be responsive to your needs and concerns," said Jerman.

Jerman replaces Greg Graham who left the department back in January.
