WATERLOO (KWWL) -

Former President Bill Clinton visited Waterloo on Wednesday to campaign for President Barack Obama.

Clinton spoke at Waterloo's Electric Park Ballroom on the grounds of the National Cattle Congress.

Congressman Bruce Braley introduced Clinton as the "master communicator" before he took the stage shortly after 3:30 Wednesday afternoon.

In his speech, Clinton focused on issues that appeal to Iowans such as wind energy, jobs, tax cuts and agriculture.

Clinton argued that no one, whether Republican or Democrat, could have brought the country out of a recession in four years, but that the country is on a road to recovery.

Clinton's campaign tour will also take him to Minnesota, Wisconsin, Colorado, Ohio and Virginia.

President Obama has taken himself off the road temporarily to deal with Hurricane Sandy.

Clinton will hold campaign events in Council Bluffs, Mason City and Waterloo on Wednesday.
