The Des Moines Register and the Cedar Rapids Gazette newspapers endorsed Mitt Romney for President.
The Des Moines Register's editorial board wrote, "Romney is better equipped to correct the nation's economy and break partisan gridlock."
It's the first time since 1972 the Register has endorsed a Republican candidate for President in the general election. Read the Register's endorsement here.
The Cedar Rapids Gazette wrote, "What we believe most strongly is that Romney has the pragmatic skills and commitment to address Job No. 1: get our economy humming and create many more of the jobs Americans need to take care of themselves and their families."
