A great matchup between Mississippi Valley rivals Cedar Rapids Prairie at 6-3 and Dubuque Senior at 7-2.
In the middle of the first quarter, Ram quarterback Austin Clemens fires a pass intended for David Janes but Jesse Vizzini is there for Prairie with the pick as he took it 50 yards for the touchdown. Hawks went ahead 14-7.
Dubuque Senior would get a pick of its own as the ball is tipped by Jarrod Edmonds and lands in the hands of Parker Hammel for the Rams.
Senior takes advantage of the field position as Austin Clemmons found Alex Duster wide open in the end zone to tie the score at 14.
Rams would get another opportunity on the kickoff as the ball bounces off a Prairie player and back into the arms of kicker Ben Martin.
After marching the ball to the 15 yard line the Rams' Austin Clemmons fired to the end zone only to picked off by Jarrod Edmonds for the Hawks. Edmonds returned the interception 90 yards for the touchdown.
Cedar Rapids Prairie would go on to win 31-28 to advance to face Iowa City West in the second round.
