Union rolls by Mount Vernon 63-20 in 2A first round game

LA PORTE CITY (KWWL) -

The 6th ranked Union Knights scored 56 first half points on their way to a 63-20 2A first round playoff victory over Mount Vernon. 

The Knights Jay Scheel returned the opening kickoff 91 yards for a touchdown. Union's Trev Hadachek returned a first quarter punt 68 yards for a touchdown.

Hadachek who had five first half touchdowns would later score on a 15 yard run, a 30 yard interception return and a 38 yard pass reception from Scheel as the Knights improve to 9-1 and advance to the second round of the 2A playoffs against Waukon.
