Franklin General Hospital in Hampton has been undergoing a remodel the last three and a half years. Sunday, officials opened the doors to the public to see what had been done.
Included in the remodel was a new hospice wing to the west side of the building, a new operating room, several semi-private rooms being changed to private rooms, and a redesigned out-patient surgery center. Nearly every part of the building was updated. The hospital added about 5,500 square feet to the existing building.
The construction was paid for through donations and loans through local financial institutions.
