IOWA CITY (KWWL) -
Penn State sprinted out to a 24-0 first half lead and never looked back as the Nittany Lions crushed Iowa 38-14.
The Nittany Lions Bill Belton ran for 103 yards and 3 touchdowns in the victory. Matt McGloin threw for 289 yards and 2 scores as Penn State won at Kinnick Stadium for the first time in 13 years.
Iowa's offense struggled all night. The Hawkeyes only managed to pick up 5 total rushing yards in the first half. They finally got on the scoreboard in the second half as Jordan Cotton returned a Penn State kick 95 yards for the touchdown. Iowa trailed 38-7 at that point. They'd add an 18 yard strike from James Vandenberg to Keenan Davis for their only other score of the night.
In the end, Iowa managed just 209 yards of total offense.
