Cedar Valley business owner wins $5,000 grant

CEDAR FALLS (KWWL) -

One area business owner received a $5,000 grant through the second annual Dream Big, Grow Here Cedar Valley contest.

Dawn Pursell, of Lizzy Mae's Cupcakes and Sweets Bakery, in Waverly won this year's contest.

She was chosen by a panel of business experts from law, technology, finance and food retail services.

Lizzy Mae's Cupcakes and Sweets Bakery will now go on to the statewide contest, where she could win another $10,000.
