FAIRBANK (KWWL) -

Wapsie Valley used a strong 2nd half to shut down district rival Starmont 35-12 Friday night.  Wapsie RB Tyler Odneal scored 2 first quarter TDs to lead the Warriors to a 14-6 lead.  Two successive trick plays kept a late 2nd quarter Starmont drive alive.  Stars TB Jake Butler got the pitch on a hook-and-ladder play then threw for a TD on the option pass to bring Starmont to within 14-12.  After the halftime break, Wapsie's defense kept Starmont off the scoreboard while the Warrior offense scored 21 points.  Wapsie Valley's overall record is now 8-0 while Starmont falls to 6-2 overall.
