WATERLOO (KWWL) -
The Waterloo West softball team may have a new head coach, and he happens to be the winningest coach in the nation's history.
West High Athletic Director Dr. Tony Pappas confirmed Wednesday night that 74 year-old Larry Niemeyer has agreed to become the new head softball coach for the Wahawks pending the approval of the Waterloo School Board.
Niemeyer has won nearly 21-hundred games and four state titles in 52 years of coaching-- the past 34 years at Cedar Rapids Jefferson.
