Crews investigate field fire in Waterloo

Authorities are investigating a field fire in Waterloo.

It happened at 1:19 a.m. Tuesday morning in an empty field near Layfette and Zuma streets.

The Waterloo Fire Department says one acre of the field was burned.

The incident remains under investigation.

Some residents of southeast Waverly are a little nervous, as the waters of the Cedar River move toward a crest in the next 24 hours.
The City of Waverly says the river is receding and previousily closed roads are starting to open.
