GRUNDY CENTER (KWWL) -

There's help for workers at Grundy Center's R.S. Bacon Veneer plant.

The business announced a layoff of half its workforce last week, about 50 people.

There's an assistance meeting for those people on Monday, October 8th:

Hawkeye Community College Western Outreach Center
17040 Market Ave (Hwy 14 North of Grundy Center)
Holland
10:00 a.m. – noon


Workers will learn about topics such as:

· Unemployment insurance
· Job searching – interviewing
· Paying bills and maintaining your credit
· Food and utility assistance
· Job retraining and paying for school
