AMES (KWWL) -
Throughout fall practice, Steele Jantz solidified himself as Iowa State's starting quarterback. That status is now in jeopardy after a rough outing against Texas Tech.
Jantz threw for a mere 73 yards in the game, while also tossing 3 interceptions. The senior did complete a 3rd quarter touchdown pass to tight end Ernst Brun.
Paul Rhoads didn't commit to a change during his weekly Monday press conference. He also didn't rule it out saying they would evaluate things during the week's practice. Although in Jantz's case, a good week of practice may not be enough.
"Obviously what we're seeing in practice excites us. That's why he's the starter, and it's also why he's 3 and 1," said Rhoads, "but more importantly we've got to see him do it on game day when the lights are on."
Iowa State travels to 15th ranked TCU on Saturday.
