Two arrested for growing marijuana in Buchanan Co.

INDEPENDENCE (KWWL) -

Two men from Linn Co. are in the Buchanan Co. Jail after deputies say the pair spearheaded a marijuana growing operation.

Deputies arrested 51-year-old Curtis Holub of Coggon and 36-year-old Ryan Patton of Central City Saturday.

It comes after a 2 month investigation into an outdoor marijuana growing operation in southern Buchanan Co.

Some residents of southeast Waverly are a little nervous, as the waters of the Cedar River move toward a crest in the next 24 hours.
The City of Waverly says the river is receding and previousily closed roads are starting to open.
