WINNESHIEK COUNTY (KWWL) -

A Decorah man is now charged in connection with a motorcycle crash that happened in September near Calmar.

Trish Taylor, 44, of Hawkeye, died in the crash along Highway 52, just north of Calmar in Winneshiek County on September 28.

The Iowa State Patrol says 45-year-old Jay Jermier of Decorah was driving the motorcycle with Taylor as the passenger when they hit an uneven surface in a construction zone.

Troopers report Jermier crossed into the other lane and lost control. He was taken to a local hospital.

According to Iowa Courts Online, Jermier was charged this week with vehicular homicide/OWI in connection with the crash.
