IOWA CITY (KWWL) -

It didn't take Iowa City Regina long to get going Friday night.

The Regals scored on their first three possessions, as the top ranked team in 1A stayed unbeaten, knocking off Alburnett 54-20.

Senior quarterback Mark Ward threw for three first quarter scores.

On the first series, Ward went up top 37 yards to Alex Balke to put the Regals up 7-0.

Next possession, Ward hit Matt Streb on a wide receiver screen for a 44 yard touchdown.

Regina stopped an Alburnett drive with a Matt Donovan interception.

The ensuing series Ward again found Streb behind the defense, a 57 yard hook up, to put Regina up 21-0.

Next week Regina will play Wilton in a highly-anticipated match up.
