Georgia man convicted in 1995 murder of Iowa woman

ATLANTA, Ga. (KWWL) -

Jurors in Georgia have convicted a man in the 1995 killing of a woman from eastern Iowa.

Karmen Smith went to Williamsburg High School and was a flight attendant.

Friday a jury convicted Waseem Daker of murdering Smith in her home on October 23, 1995.

Daker also attacked her son with a knife, but Smith's son survived.

Daker is sentenced to life in prison, plus another 47 years.
