CEDAR RAPIDS (KWWL) -
One person is dead after a shooting in Cedar Rapids.
The shooting happened at 10:00 p.m. Saturday night in the 600 block of 16th Avenue SW.
During an investigation at the scene, officers learned a gunshot victim was admitted to the hospital and transported to Iowa City.
19-year-old Latasha "Tasha" Roundtree died from her injuries.
She was a 2012 graduate of Washington High School where she was on the homecoming court last year.
She was also a star of the basketball team.
The Cedar Rapids Police Department is investigating the case as a homicide.
