#8 UNI falls just short at #4 Youngstown State

Sawyer Kollmorgen's pass from the 11 yard line fell harmlessly to the ground as time expired leaving UNI on the short end of a 42-35 match-up at Youngstown State.  The victory was the first in the series for the Penguins since 2000.

The first half turned in to a shoot-out with the 2 teams exchanging blows.  YSU struck first with a score on their initial drive.  Kollmorgen then hooked up with Terrell Sinkfield to pull the game even at 7 apiece.  Youngstown State proceeded to score a pair of touchdowns before Kollmorgen found David Johnson, throwing his second touchdown pass of the night to pull UNI within 7 at the half.

The Panthers began the second scoring on their first two drives.  David Johnson picked up a reception for his second TD, and then picked up number 3 on the ground as UNI took their first lead of the game at 28-21.

Youngstown State finished the night outscoring UNI 21-7, capping it with a 26 yard connection from Kurt Hess to Christian Bryan with 1:50 remaining in the game.  UNI managed to drive the ball to YSU's 11 yard line but ran out of time snapping their 11 game winning streak in the series.
