East hangs on to beat CR Jefferson 30-24

CEDAR RAPIDS (KWWL) -

Waterloo East jumped to a 17-0 lead and held on to beat Cedar Rapids Jefferson on homecoming night at Jefferson.

Jordan Johnson scored on a 15 yard touchdown run on the Trojans' opening possession to make it 7-0.

Johnson added another touchdown run of 16 yards in the second quarter to make it 14-0 while East High kicker Juan Martinez made a 39 yard field goal to stretch the Trojan lead to 17-0 before the J-Hawks would get on the board.

Waterloo East wins 30-24.
