Honor Flight makes family reunion

WASHINGTON, D.C. (KWWL) -

With American flags in hand the Trehey family and friends patiently waited at the Baltimore-Washington International Airport to welcome their veteran to Washington D.C.

Kevin Trehey was especially waiting for his dad, World War 2 veteran Harold Trehey.

"Kevin is an army person. He graduated from West Point so his dad was his support system, getting him going to West Point," said Beth Trehey, Kevin's wife.

Some time after graduating from West Point, Kevin was diagnosed with M.S. and now lives in the D.C. Area. It was a little challenging to get him to the airport to greet his dad.

"I just never thought this would work out honestly. He is very ill and just to get the two of them together is amazing," said Beth Trehey.

"I was hoping he would get here. Haven't seen him in a good many years," said Harold Trehey.

It's this reunion at the airport that these two veterans will never forget.
