Trucking, community giant, Bob Molinaro, dead at age 82

Posted:

A true giant in the American trucking industry and the Cedar Valley business community has died, following a bout with liver cancer.

Bob Molinaro was President of Warren Transport Company in Waterloo for 36 years. He died Tuesday at age 82.

Molinaro was a force in the Cedar Valley business world for decades. When he had something on his mind, he always let you know how he felt about the issue at hand. He often attended Waterloo City Council meetings to express his opinion.

Married 62-years, Bob and his wife, Mary Ellen, have made numerous large donations over the years through their Molinaro Charitable Foundation, and  pledged more than a million dollars for construction of the new Blessed Maria Assunta Pallota Middle School in the Cedar Valley Catholic School System.

Services are pending, but a family member told KWWL funeral services for Bob Molinaro will likely be held next Monday at St. Edward's Catholic Church in Waterloo.
