Cedar Rapids Titans to hold tryouts for 2013 team

Want to be a professional football player?  The Cedar Rapids Titans might be the answer to your dream.

The Cedar Rapids Titans announced on Tuesday that open tryouts for the 2013 season will be held October 6 and 7 at the Eastern Iowa Sports Complex.  The EISC is located at 1100 North 18th Avenue in Hiawatha.

The cost to tryout is $65 and includes a t-shirt.  Housing is available for those traveling from out-of-town at the Hometown Inn and Suites, 3315 Southgate Court SW in Cedar Rapids.  Cost is $25 per night and includes continental breakfast.

Saturday begins with registration and warm-up at 2:00 p.m. and tryouts beginning at 3:00 p.m.  Tryouts continue on Sunday, beginning at 10:00 a.m.  All players wishing to tryout should be available for both days.

You must be at least 18-years-old to tryout.  You will be evaluated on 40-yard dash, 20-yard shuttle, bench press, four cone drill, standing broad jump, agility drills, position-specific drills and 7-on-7.

Kickers will be evaluated on kickoff and field goal proficiency.
