Get ready for another incredible night of music this Friday night.
The UNI School of Music will host its 31st annual Scholarship Benefit Concert at the Gallagher Bluedorn Performing Arts Center, Friday, September 28, at 7:30 p.m. on the UNI campus.
This year's theme is 120 Years: The Road to Excellence. The concert will highlight the School of Music's 120th anniversary at the University of Northern Iowa and will feature music from several UNI faculty artists, as well as The University of Northern Iowa Wind Symphony, the UNI Varsity Glee Club, Jazz Band One, The UNI Symphony Orchestra, UNI Singers, Opera Ensemble and the UNI Concert Chorale.
The music of UNI faculty artists, John Hines, Sean Botkin and Randy Grabowski will also be featured during the annual concert.
The UNI School of Music Scholarship Benefit Concerts raises scholarship funds for gifted music students and students in need. These annual concerts date back to 1982.
All seats are reserved at GBPAC. Individual tickets may be purchased in person at the Gallagher Bluedorn Performing Arts Center Box Office, or by calling one of these two familiar phone numbers: 319-273-4TIX (4849) or 877-549-SHOW (7469).
Prior to the event, concert-goers will enjoy the music of Angeleita Floyd and the UNI Flute Choir. Following the concert, patrons will enjoy hors d'oeuvres, champagne and music in the GBPAC lobby. The Hands of Time Quartet will perform in the lobby, following the concert in the Great Hall.
In Davis Hall, additional post-concert performances will feature School of Music faculty musicians.
