UPDATE: Cedar Rapids store robbed twice in three days

Cedar Rapids police say the Family Dollar store at 2325 Mount Vernon Road SE has been robbed for the second time in three days.

According to Sergeant Cristy Hamblin, the latest robbery happened Wednesday at about 11:45 a.m.

Hamblin says that three men, two with guns, walked into the store and took money and cigarettes.  She says they were last seen running between the strip mall and the Hy-Vee Drug store.

The first robbery happened on Sunday.  Police say two men, one with a gun, robbed the store at around 11:30 a.m.  

Hamblin says in that incident, two suspects entered the store and demanded cash from the clerk.  They say one of the suspects showed a gun.  After leaving the store with some cash, the two were last seen running between the strip mall and the Hy-Vee Drug store.  

The suspects in Sunday's robbery are described as a white male, 5'9", 150 lbs., wearing a black hoodie, black jeans and black shoes and a black male, 5'9", 150 lbs., wearing a dark blue hoodie, black jeans and black shoes.  Police say both had their faces covered.

No one was hurt in either incident.
