One person is dead after an early morning accident in Iowa City

One person is dead after a single vehicle accident in Iowa City.

It happened at 3:30 a.m.  Saturday morning on Highway 1 West between Hawk Ridge and Sunset Streets.

Iowa City Police say five people were riding in a vehicle when the driver lost control and the vehicle rolled.

The driver, 19-year-old Bharati Mashay Windmon of Iowa City, died in the accident.  The four passengers suffered minor injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
