Posted:
LA PORTE CITY (KWWL) -

Jay Scheel did it again, but his performance was overshadowed by a brilliant defensive effort as Union took down Osage 41-7.

Scheel opened the scoring with a 43 yard touchdown run.  He added an 83 yarder later in the quarter.  In total, Scheel ran for 181 yards and 2 touchdowns.  He threw for 221 yards with 2 more scoring strikes to Brian Dunkelberger and Brady Peterson.  Trev Hadachek and Andrew Osuna each also tallied touchdown carries for the Knights.

Defensively, Union kept the Green Devils high powered offense of the scoreboard.  Senior Nic Peters picked off a pair of passes, while the Knights also recovered 2 Osage fumbles.  The Green Devils' lone touchdown came on a second quarter fumble return.
