PARKERSBURG (KWWL) -

In 1A District 3, seventh ranked Aplington-Parkersburg hosted West Fork Friday night.

Last week, 9th ranked Aplington-Parkersburg bounced back from its first regular season loss in two years with an impressive 40-0 win at Hudson. West Fork entered the night 1-2 including a 54-12 loss to Garner Hayfield in its district opener.

The Falcons would look to go to war with the Warhawks. The A-P varsity is still looking to earn those Falcon decals back on their helmets.

The Warhawks would start moving the ball first early in this one. West Fork quarterback Spencer Halloran would handoff to Zane Ruger and Ruger would dive for the end zone. The Warhawks would miss the extra point and would go up by six.

Falcon Head Coach Alex Pollock would have a talk with his players and try to change the momentum in this one. His players would respond.

At the end of the first quarter, the Falcons would run a reverse up the middle and Hunter Carmichael would take it 29 yards to the house.

In the second quarter, the Falcons would show they can fly as Kollin Cuvelier would air it out to Cody Grill. It would turn into a 52 yard touchdown pass. The Falcons would go up 14 to 6.

Later in the second, Carmichael would take the hand off and follow his blocker down the sideline for the score. A-P would miss the extra point, but would go up 20 to 6.

The Falcons would get one more score before halftime.

In the second half it was more of the same as the Falcons take down the Warhawks in this battle of the birds 49 to 22.

The Falcons travel to West Union next week.
