IOWA CITY (KWWL) -

An Iowa City man is accused of stealing 51 bottles of vodka over the period of a month.

Iowa City police were called to the Wal-Mart on Highway 1 West at around 6:07 p.m. on Thursday for a report of a theft in progress.

When officers arrived, Wal-Mart staff had 20-year-old Mack Delonnie Blumingburg in custody after he tried to steal eight bottles of Grey Goose vodka.

Wal-Mart told police that they had been watching Blumingburg over the last month and say that he stole a total of 51 bottle during six trips to the store.

Police say Blumingburg admitted four of the thefts and sold it for $20 per bottle, sometimes to underage people.

Police say the vodka is valued at $1,633.02.

Blumingburg is charged with second degree theft and bootlegging.
