CEDAR RAPIDS (KWWL) -
A Shellsburg woman is charged with discharge of a firearm after an incident in Cedar Rapids on Thursday.
Cedar Rapids police were called to the 1600 block of A Avenue East at around 12:45 p.m. for a report of shots fired.
When officers arrived in the area, they found 33-year-old Nikki Rodites in the area of 1st Avenue and 16th Street SE with a 9mm Glock handgun in a holster on her side.
Sergeant Cristy Hamblin says that Rodites told officers that she worked for a bail bonds company and was trying to revoke a bond when the subject ran. She says she fired one shot into the air to get him to stop, but it didn't work.
Hamblin says that Rodites had no ID from any bonds company in her possession and the person Rodites was trying to apprehend was not found in the area.
Hamblin says that it appears no one was injured and no property was damaged in this incident.
