Lange makes a written promise to Iowans

Republican candidate for the 1st Congressional District, Ben Lange, signed what he is calling a "Compact with Iowans." The compact includes his written promise and outlines his vision for moving America forward.

Lange criticized incumbent Bruce Braley for not getting enough done on Capital Hill.

"Unfortunately our congressman for the past six years, the only one with the authority to solve these problems, has no plan," Lange said. "His policies have made things worse. He has no ideas, no new ideas and no solutions."

Braley supporters gathered outside for Lange's "big announcement'" in hopes to hear his position on the Paul Ryan budget. Lange refused to comment on the Ryan budget plan; because he says he needs to read it first.

"The last several times he's been asked questions about it he's begged off saying he hasn't had the chance to read it. Well, I've managed to read the whole thing in the course of a couple of hours. So, you know, he's either slow or he's lost his copy," Braley supporter Norm Sterzenbach said.

Sterzenbach and a few other Braley supporters say they believe Lange will not make his position clear due to unpopular provisions within the budget.
