WASHINGTON, D.C. (KWWL) -
The United States Department of Transportation has awarded federal money to the Dubuque and Waterloo Regional airports for facility improvements.
In a release on Tuesday, the U.S. DOT announced that the Dubuque Regional Airport would receive $5,838,226 and the Waterloo Regional Airport would get $1,069,245.
The Dubuque Regional Airport will use the grant money for construction of a new terminal, while the Waterloo Regional Airport will use their money to help replace a taxiway that was built in 1965 and last resurfaced in 1977.
