IOWA CITY (KWWL) -

Iowa State linebacker Jake Knott was named th Big 12's Defensive Player of the Week for his efforts in Saturday's Cy-Hawk game.

Knott tallied 6 tackles in the game, however, it was his game saving interception that will be most remembered by both fan bases.  With Iowa driving in the final minute, the ISU senior leaped and tipped a James Vandenberg pass to himself sealing the 9-6 victory for the Cyclones.

Knott is the second Cyclone to win a Big 12 honor this season.  Punter Kirby Van Der Kamp picked up the special teams award for his efforts against Tulsa in week one.
